Get Prepared to be Searched & Scanned with Spyware Scan

The truth is out in the open. Spyware is a world-wide scourge affecting computers connected to the World Wide Web, and this crisis has no immediate solutions so far.

Spyware is able to affect your computer in a number of ways such as:

- tracking and recording website activity

- tracking and recording online product purchases

- intercepting, reading and recording email that your computer sends or receives

- record your complete online chats or Instant Messenger archived chats

- search through your private files and documents

- record all your passwords

- record sensitive financial information such as credit cards, bank accounts, social security numbers and other private data

The current antidote for the spyware problem is provided by anti-spyware software, which is getting more popular everyday. Even if it can be found everywhere on the Internet, and people are quickly getting the latest updated versions, most users have been disappointed. In practice the anti-spyware creations have not managed to completely eradicate the spyware problem.

All anti-spyware software should:

- remove access traces for the documents and pictures you used recently,

- detect and remove any spyware that logs your computer's activity,

- erase files permanently through industrial-grade data shredders,

- detect if someone is recording your keystrokes or spying on you,

- protect your favorite homepage from hijacking,

- integrated database for spyware information details,

- Layered Service Provider analysis and repair function,

- immunization function for possible vulnerabilities,

- Active-X controls management and analysis,

- automated service and database updates for the spyware signatures,

- detect common adware, dialers, keyloggers and other malware.

Some users have dealt with the problem by installing several products that together manage all of the above, as compared to a single product's disappointing features. This way, two or more anti-spyware programs complement each other by providing a larger spyware coverage. The simplest step on this approach is a spyware scan.

What is a spyware scan?

Referring to spyware scans, we identify software that scans for spyware with a complete hard drive search, checking every folder and file for matching spyware components and traces. Spyware scans will detect all traces and completely erase any spyware, immediately disabling the intruders and preventing its reactivation. During the scanning procedure, the spyware scan will alert the owner of the found threats and offer recommended actions against them. This enables the consumer to take informed decisions based on the provided information, and choose the best method to erase and delete the offending spyware.

Since spyware scanning is a multi-step, multi-level action, this leaves room for other anti-spyware to come into action. Where one anti-spyware is unable to identify or even detect a spyware infection, other spyware scans will finish the job completely. Use of at least two anti-spyware products is encouraged as it increases your effectiveness. As the old saying goes, two heads are better than one.
